| Sarah
and Marie Murray. They visit often. Marie is a retired nurse from Perry
Point. She's overcome some serious health problems but she's still got a
lotta spunk. Her daughters and grandchildren dote on her. Sarah, is also
a registered psychiatric nurse at Perry Point. Sarah counts the days till
her retirement. Marie lives in PA and visits Sarah often, but Sarah still
lives across the bridge, in Perryville I think, with her nephew and son.
They visit sometimes on Friday night. Usually Sarah's ex or her brother,
Jimmy, drive them over to HdG because mother and daughter team sure do like
their 7 & 7. We've all known each other for a long time. Our dads were
friends. One time at a July 4th visit to HdG, I was attacked out of the
blue by a big, black, scary carney chick. BOOM! She sucker punched me! Sarah
came to my rescue, but the carney gal picked her up and threw her all the
way under the Ferris Wheel with one swoop of her arm. LOL... I saw that
and said "Oh Shit" and barely had time to run BEHIND Maria. Lucky
for me because then the girl couldn't reach me. LOL I don't think she wanted
to mess with Maria. I ended up with a black eye, to which Aunt Tillie promptly
applied a steak, and Sarah was full of dirt and scrapes and bruises. We
still laugh about it 15 years later. Sarah says, "DAMN that chick was
STRONG!" You just never know what's gonna go down on 4th of July Havre
de Grace. Still, all in all, it's my favorite holiday there. Only now....I
keep away from the carnival rides ;-] |
