Our
Farewell to JoJo
Dear JoAnn,
You were only
47 when you left us; but, your wisdom was equal to that of a person living
for 100 years and you touched us each in a very profound and special way.
Your legacy to all those you have left behind is one of strength and unity.
During your lifetime, you demonstrated remarkable resilience and ability
to overcome the Odds. On many many occasions you were called upon to rise
above obstacles that would have devastated those of us who perceive ourselves
to be strong. Your battle against such an insidious disease was one of
rebellious contempt for the disease; yet one of valor and dedicated faith
to the God who has led you to eternal peace.You stood tall, Jo, leading
the way for us. You helped us understand how important it is to believe
in ourselves and to trust our ability to rise above life’s obstacles,
just as you rose above the crippling and debilitating pain that was your
ever present assailant.You had many goals that you wanted to realize before
departing this earth and you shared one or two with each of us. We know
that you wanted your "grandbabies" to be together, safe, and
happy. And we know that you wanted your family and friends to genuinely
care about one another and to always stay close and supportive of each
other. Jo, you were so very proud of your roots, your "family."
You loved each and every one of us in such a way that we each felt very
special.You have touched our lives and tasked us to assure your legacy
of strength and unity will live on through this generation and to the
next and the next and the next.We love you, Jo, and we will carry your
legacy in our hearts and always strive to achieve the strength of character
you have demonstrated.We will forever work to understand each other better,
to love each other unconditionally; staying close to one another as you
have willed us to do.
